2009

In late 2009, our founder, Lu Hou, started working part-time in the field of study abroad consulting. His inaugural client, a senior executive from a Shanghai-based IT company, secured admission to the prestigious TRIUM Executive MBA program at NYU Stern School of Business under Lu’s guidance. Remarkably, this client was the only mainland Chinese student admitted to the program that year.

2010

In 2010, Lu assisted several students in securing full scholarships for undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and Mount Holyoke College, and for Ph.D. studies at Brown University, Cornell University, and UCSD.

2011

In October 2011, AUCTA International Education was founded both in Austin, Texas and in China. The name “AUCTA” is the Latin term for “growth,” reflecting our commitment to fostering educational development.

2013 - 2014

Between 2013 and 2014, our team collaborated with the International Division of the High School Attached to Northwest Normal University in Xi’an, one of China’s top 30 high schools. Hou took on the role of college counselor for the school's esteemed “Talented Class” program. Under his guidance, the program achieved groundbreaking success in international college admissions, with more than half of the 30+ students in the program gaining admission to globally recognized institutions, including those ranked within the top 30 in the US, top 3 in Canada, and top 5 in the UK.

Additionally, we established an exclusive partnership with the Harvard-affiliated CollegeVine team and established a dedicated office in Boston for essay consulting.

2015

In 2015, our Lanzhou office transitioned to a new location, while concurrently, we launched our new branch in Chicago, IL, which oversees study trips, exchange programs, high school admissions, and ongoing support for our students enrolled in US high schools.

Additionally, we founded over ten student clubs and established multiple Project-Based Learning centers across Gansu Province and other western regions in China. These initiatives were designed to foster student engagement in extracurricular activities, enhancing personal growth and enriching their profiles for future educational pursuits.

2016

In 2016, the “AUCTA Peiyou” training institute was established, successfully launching three campuses.

2017

In 2017, AUCTA expanded its presence with the opening of a new office in Chengdu, Sichuan, along with the flagship campus of “AUCTA Peiyou” in Lanzhou, Gansu.

2018

In early 2018, we launched AUCTA WORKSHOP in Shanghai, specializing in applications to top-tier universities in the US, Canada, and the UK.

2019 - Present

Since 2019, our team has consistently assisted 30-40 students each year in their applications to undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States. The majority of these students have successfully gained admission to the top 50 U.S. universities, with more than half receiving offers from esteemed institutions ranked within the top 30.
